The FatGirl Frock Swaps were a series of clothing exchanges in Portland, Oregon designed to make plus-sized clothing (which is often outlandishly priced) more accessible, as well as to facilitate a comfortable and supportive clothes shopping experience for those who often find it otherwise. We provided pop-up changing rooms, DJs spinning tunes, and a local radio station even came and broadcast from our last event in 2005 where we raised over 800lbs of pplus-sized clothing to donate to Hurricane Katrina victims who were forced to wear garbage bags at shelters when plus-sized clothing donations were unavailable.
